Dear Attacca Friends,

Happy October! We hope you all had a wonderful summer. As you know, our 2015-2016 season was an incredibly hectic and exciting one; we welcomed a new member to our family, we finished our 6-year-long Haydn project, and we toured internationally. When we completed “The 68”, The New York Times wrote about our new series “Recently Added” that will feature the complete works of living composers.

What we had not yet announced is that we are embarking on a new cycle – today, we are thrilled to tell you about the launch of our new Beethoven project Based on Beethoven. The series will feature performances of the complete Beethoven string quartets paired with works inspired by Beethoven from the “Recently Added” series.

To each of us, performing all of the Beethoven quartets has been a life-long dream and goal. Correspondingly, to any composer who writes a string quartet, Beethoven’s influence on the genre is always monumental. We hope to introduce you to these contemporary composers through the lens of the great Beethoven works.

Please mark your calendars on the following dates to witness our pilgrimage to the great music written by the old and new masters of string quartet writing:

October 21st, 2016 at 7:30pm
January 20th, 2017 at 7:30pm
May 12th, 2017 at 7:30pm

Venue: Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
3 West 65th Street, New York, NY 10023

We look forward to reuniting with all of you soon!

Love,

Amy, Keiko, Nathan & Andrew
